Description

This USB to TTL adapter is based on the CP2102 USB to TTL serial converter IC. It is commonly used when microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, PIC etc have to communicate with computers through serial communication. As USB has DATA lines D+ and D- that can be connected and routed by CMOS switches. The USB can be connected to many peripheral devices and has a very fast speed of data transfer also it is used with Windows, Mac or any other operating system. On the other hand, Arduino and other microcontrollers works on UART data transfer protocol i.e. TTL logic level data transfer protocol it only works on 0V or 5V logic levels. That is why we need a USB to TTL serial converter IC so that Arduino or any other controller which work on UART protocol can be connected to the computer. It can also be used to program and or communicate with a GPS/GSM module through AT commands. The module supports both 3.3V and 5V interface.

item worked exactly as intended. Wires are small and pins are not included. If you need them order them..

  2. jai

Bought it to use with a Beaglebone Black to hook up to the TX/RX pins and view the boot process. Works great for that. Had to adjust the settings on the receiving end to avoid character dropouts but once done, it worked flawlessly.Highly recommended for the price.

  3. kanan

Great tool for working with OrangePi!!Keep in mind you need to use Putty and cross the Tx & Rx wires!

  4. neha

Works just fine for a USB to TTL adapter. Using with a raspberry pi 3 and DV-Mega Raspberry Pi hat. For this project I had to reverse the Rx and Tx leads. This is probably a very common requirement.

  5. Vivek Singh

This worked great! No driver installation was necessary on my Lubuntu 18.10 and it connected immediately to my FriendlyElec ZeroPi. It’s nice that it supports both 3V and 5V options. Mine also came with a handy heat-shrinked plastic wrap around the board which offered some basic protection and structural support. I didn’t detect any flimsiness with the connectors that others have reported so I’m not sure if they’ve improved their quality recently.

  6. dhruv

Used this to create a Serial connection when adding Mazda Tweaks to my CX-5. Since I only needed 3 wires was able to cut and solder the wire set for a little longer cable reach.

Worked very well to program esp32 cam boards.Had no problems whatsoever.Great price too.
